I would like to thank the Michael Hoefflin Foundation (MHF) and all of the sponsors for all they do for our children. We became part of the MHF Family in 2014 when Ariana was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. We were experiencing a pain beyond words and sought help from different organizations. Unfortunately, we did not meet the criteria to qualify for state funded programs and were turned away by social workers. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation was the only organization who gave us the communal support we needed. We were not discriminated and were given the same considerations as any grieving parent whose child is battling a life threatening disease.
Our first Christmas after diagnosis we were invited to the Christmas party, Toy event and provided with three months of gas and grocery gift cards. During these difficult times of isolation and heartache the events put together by the foundation brought great happiness to our daughter. For that moment in time we could all leave our worries aside and be present in that moment with other families like ours.
The organizations mission statement is to provide care and support for the families so that in turn they can focus on the child’s well being. Without generous donations there would be no support for families of children with cancer. The money they raise goes towards providing support and hope for families who are battling cancer, who have battled and won and for all those families who have fought and lost the battle. I am so grateful and blessed to be part of the Michael Hoefflin Family.
Our first walk with the Foundation-March 2015
I would like to dedicate this post in loving memory of Emily J. Jarquin.
